About Treatment

Acupuncture uses extremely fine, flexible, sterile needles, which are gently placed just under the skin at specific points. This stimulates the body’s functioning and natural healing and restores balance. Only a few needles are generally used in one session, and they may be removed immediately or left for a few minutes while you relax. A brief sensation is felt when the needle is first placed in the point.

Your first consultation will last 90 minutes and will include your first treatment. We will talk about your health history and body systems, with particular emphasis on your difficulties in conceiving or your experience of pregnancy. Physical checks may include blood pressure, tongue and pulse diagnosis. Your treatment and its frequency will then be planned according to your unique situation.

Nutrition is key to ensuring the best environment in which to conceive and nurture a baby. It is essential for all body systems to function effectively that all essential nutrients are present and that the body is well hydrated. Foods and supplements need to be tailored to each individual and I will offer guidance in these areas as appropriate.
